Trying Out Qubulus’s QPS API
The first test of the Qubulus indoor positioning system was using Gecko, the app used for recording the radio signals on-site. Once the guys have processed the site on their backend, they send a fingerprint file which can be added to Gecko, allowing you to switch to Location Mode. The positioning then takes place locally on the device.
That’s all well and good, but I want to incorporate it into my own app. Handy then, that I’ve got a key for their new API which will allow me to do just that! They’re also kind enough to provide a some sample code showing you how to get it up and running.
So without further ado I dug out my Google Maps API key, installed the demo app on the phone and headed back down to York Designer Outlet to test how it performed. You can see the results for yourself below…
